My Hopes for EVs in 2025
Looking at 2025, I find myself filled with excitement and anticipation for the evolving landscape of electric vehicles (EVs). The advancements we could see in the coming year have the potential to fundamentally reshape how we think about transportation. Here are my hopes and dreams for what 2025 might bring to the world of EVs.
1. Affordable, Compact, and Efficient Cars
Imagine a world where EVs are no longer a luxury but an everyday choice for the average commuter. I dream of seeing manufacturers roll out cheaper, smaller electric cars that don’t just look good but are practical and efficient. Dacia are already stating things off in this segment with the Spring. While this car might not be to everyone’s tastes, I do think it will be the start of more to come. These cars could be game-changers, making electric transportation an option for more people, especially those living in cities where space and budget are at a premium.
2. Charging Points in the Right Places
One of my biggest wishes is for a more strategic approach to placing charging points. It’s not just about having more chargers; it’s about having them where they’re needed most. Think shopping centres, office parks, and residential streets. The convenience of knowing there’s always a charger nearby could alleviate much of the anxiety that comes with driving an EV. I also the more people see that there are chargers in their area it will make people understand that finding a charger isn’t a problem.
3. Making Charging More Accessible and Affordable
Lastly, I hope for a future where charging an EV is easy and affordable. More must be done in reducing costs of using public chargers especially for people without access to home charging. This could be done with governmental policy or some form of subscription model. I still believe that this issue is probably the most important one to solve for the year to come.
